Vacuum Bagging
This is basically an extension of the wet lay-up process where pressure is applied to the laminate once laid-up in order to improve its consolidation. This is achieved by sealing a plastic film or bag over the wet laid-up laminate and onto the tool/mold. The air under the bag is extracted by the vacuum pump and up to one atmosphere of pressure can be applied to the laminate. This compression under the vacuum helps remove air, voids, and excess gas giving off during curing.

Roll Wrapping
Roll wrapping carbon fiber tubes is the process we use for composite tubes that are smaller and shorter in length. Carbon light utilize prepreg materials of carbon fiber roll wrapping tubes. This manufacturing process is primarily used for producing small to medium diameter tubes of 0.250″ through 12.0″ diameter and lengths up to 8′ long. Rolled tubes are ideal for applications that require the highest bending stiffness and lowest weight, such as telescoping poles, automation robotics, idler rollers, and UAV components.

Filament Winding
The Filament Winding process involves two primary components. A stationary steel mandrel rotates,, while a carriage arm travels horizontally up and down the length of the mandrel. The travelling arm includes a winding eye, which groups the roving’s typically of carbon, fiberglass or a mixture of two and dispenses them to the mandrel. As the mandrel turns, the roving’s wrap around it to form a composite layer over the mandrel’s surface. The precise orientation of the composite matrix is determined by the rate of travel of the carriage and by the rotational speed of the mandrel, both of which are automated.

Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Method
This is basically an extension of the wet lay-up process where pressure is applied to the laminate once laid-up in order to improve its consolidation. This is achieved by sealing a plastic film or bag over the wet laid-up laminate and onto the tool/mold. The air under the bag is extracted by the vacuum pump and up to one atmosphere of pressure can be applied to the laminate. This compression under the vacuum helps remove air, voids, and excess gas giving off during curing. To get the optimal properties out of carbon fiber parts made by hand lay-up, mostly cured by a combination of heat, pressure/vacuum.
